Today we gave Avery her first bath at home and we can already tell she does not like them. We gave her a sponge bath because her umbilical cord has not fallen off yet. Aunt Hayley helped us video tape it with our DVD camcorder so that we can use it to embarrass her when she's older. When her hair is wet is is pretty curly, but then straightens out when we comb it, so it will be neat to see what it will turn out to be. Avery also had her first doctor's appointment today. This was the first outing for Avery and me since we'd been home from the hospital. The doctor said everything was great, and she's gaining weight which is what you want in newborns. Our next visit is a 2 week visit, hopefully for mommy and Avery not too many shots, but we'll see.
