Another visit from the New Yorkers
My mom and Hayley were able to come visit during Hayley's spring break this week. We were very lucky to have them with us. It was a long trip down, so when they got here we all rested. We didn't do too much the first day. While mom rested, Hayley came with me to pick up some clothes and shoes for Avery, even though we got lost about 4 times she didn't complain once, and Avery had a couple of tasty, non-salted, pretzels on the way.
While they were here we went shopping a few times, some good shopping experiences and some bad. We won't go into that, but let's just say it involved a shady salesperson named Chris. Thankfully we got everything straightened out. We got mom a Bluetooth for Mother's Day that she has been using since she left. New York has a law that you can't talk on your cell unless you have a hands-free device so that works out even better. The weather was pretty amazing with the exception of a little rain on Saturday. We had a lot of fun outside. Hayley and Joel were doing cartwheels, Hayley, Avery and I ran in the backyard, Avery even played outside on a blanket. I think we were great entertainment for mom who was hanging out with us in the backyard.
We also had some fun playing the Wii, a lil Karaoke with my beautiful voice and of course played a round of Apples to Apples, our favorite family game. I think it's becoming a tradition with us. We always have a blast with this, surprisingly no one laughed so much they were crying, but that's pretty common with us.
Avery loved seeing Mom and Hayley. She liked kissing, and biting Nana, and trying to get her glasses. Hayley and Avery played together a lot, Hayley even helped Joel give her a bath. Avery got excited every day she saw Nana and Hayley in the morning or after naps. Hopefully we'll be able to visit with them again soon.
While they were here Avery got some cute new clothes, hair bows, and her first custom fit pair of walking shoes. Very exciting!!! She already knows how to take them off unfortunately, but they look cute and hopefully she'll get used to walking in them soon.
The newest member of Avery's huge stuffed animal family is her Dinosaur, I so cleverly named Dina Sore. Yeah, I thought it was cute. Nana offered to buy Avery one since Hayley was getting one too. We should have taken a picture of the two together, maybe our next visit.
So, after lots of shopping, eating, hanging out, enjoying the weather, playing games and Hayley even doing some homework we had a great time with these two and were blessed that they could make a save, long trip down.
