2 for Two!

This weekend we were invited to two birthday parties for two special kids who were both turning two. You got all that??

Our first party was in the morning at Chuck E. Cheese. Avery had never ever been but we figured she'd be great. She's a cautious little lady but very independent these days. Upon arriving we found some friends in the toddler play section and decided to say our, "hellos."

This too was our time as parents attending a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party. Once we figured out where to sit and that we had tokens to spend we were ready to take Avery on some fun rides. Little did we know, miss daughter-of-a-roller-coaster-enthusiast, would cling to us like a koala bear.

She did love counting her tokens though....watch out Scrooge McDuck!

Anyway, we sat down with some friends and she ended up eating a little bit of her first pizza and had a few licks of frosting, she's just not into getting dirty with food. I am very surprised by that because I've never been super clean with her, but I think that's her personality. She's been organizing EVERYTHING lately, it's so fun to see.

With a full belly and some warm up time we decided to try her on the rides again, although she still wasn't having anything to do with that she did surprise us, with the help from a mom friend and started crawling all over the toddler play "bus." She loved climbing stairs, banging on the "window" to see us and of course going down the slide. Of course she had to try this out 20 plus times once she got the hang of it. I was just happy she was having fun.

The second party was held at Author Squad. We had never been there before either, however it turned out to be a great. If you've never gone and have or know kids, you definitely should make a trip.

Author Squad is a combonation of a very fun library and an awesome bookstore with so many creative things. They had books, puzzles, rocking chairs, tea sets, cute bags, felt food, and so much more!! I definitely have to go back in the future just to buy lots of stuff.

Anyway the party was a princesses and pirates party so Avery made a costume change as I wasn't going to have her wearing a dress at Chuck E. Cheese with all the climbing and what not. She looked super cute in her blue and white polka dot dress.

The party was a lot of fun, I think it was geared towards kids a little older than Avery though. They did a few crafts, one of which was creating a paper princess that the Author Squad people scanned and turned into a book for the birthday princess.

Avery didn't eat a thing there, of course again they had pizza and cake. Her main interest was running around the shop, which was totally cool because it was pretty much just our party and very kid friendly. They even had puzzles and castles out for the kids to test/play with.

Avery had a good time running around and playing with everything. And I enjoyed finally being able to go home and sit down after running around all day. Happy Birthday Aidan and Haleigh!!!
