Thanks-getting?? Part 4

Let the games begin, but only after Avery is asleep! I put Avery down and we started talking about our "ritual of games." Normally we play Apples-to-Apples with mom and Hayley at least once before we return to our own home. As we talked more we realized that Kmart (the only real retail store in my town) was still open. Hmm, thinking, thinking, thinking, "Let's get Pictionary-Man," I said, and everyone was up for that idea. We actually called the store and asked them to hold it at the front so Joel could get in and out of Kmart with ease.

After he returned we played both Pictionary-Man and Apples to Apples, both games were a lot of fun and I think it's great how both games are easy to play for all ages. I think it's great how playing silly games can bring us together. We always end up laughing about something goofy. Good times!

We really enjoyed our last night in New York, but had to pack up to get ready to leave the next morning. We decided that we would leave on Saturday so we could make it home and have one day to recoup from the driving, eating, and laughing. After getting the car packed we said our goodbyes to my mom and Hayley and then went to say goodbye to the Carl's.

All in all we had a wonderful visit, Avery enjoyed it thoroughly and it wasn't as crazy, weird, stressful, as I thought it would be. In fact it was one of the best visits we've had, aside from the weather on the trip up and the fact that it's about 11-13 hours from us. Thanks to all of our great family and friends!
